Sansula Basic | A minor tuning

Sansula Basic is a kalimba with a resonating membrane crafted by the German workshop HOKEMA. Nine tuned tines in the key of A minor produce a soft and rich sound that you bring to life with a gentle flick of your fingers - no musical knowledge required.

The notes are tuned so that they harmonize naturally. You can therefore improvise freely and try any combination without worrying about playing a wrong note.

How to Play the Sansula Basic

You sound the tines by plucking with your thumbs or fingers, freely and without the need to follow any specific pattern. The membrane beneath the instrument adds a delicate, vibrating timbre that can also be modulated by how you hold the instrument in your hands. It is ideal for playing at home, meditation, yoga, and gentle sound work in music education.
